The Assistant Branch Manager is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing assistant leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort to grow sales and client base in coordination with the consumer sales team. The overall objective of this role is to grow sales, build customer loyalty and recommend the development of business strategies or initiatives and may include the management of activities by external organizations, and the direct management of individuals and sales teams.


  • Partner with the Branch Manager and Area Operations Director to achieve sales and service goals
  • Maximize sales referrals and ensure the delivery of excellent customer service, resolve escalated customer complaints/ issues
  • Assist in creating highly productive sales culture, fostering an environment in which all branch employees and segment partners excel and achieve scorecard goals
  • Build portfolio growth by coaching tellers to identify referral opportunities and convert to sales and develop high performing tellers
  • Oversee daily operations and conduct "daily proof processes" of branch to ensure operational compliance; investigate and mitigate controllable losses among branch staff
  • Ensure branch is compliant with security/risk requirements and is maintaining the proper administration of resources and processes
  • Leverage workforce planning tool to optimize staffing in branches and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manage a team by training team members, monitoring work, providing feedback and recommending hiring, discipline, performance evaluation, promotion, compensation and termination
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


  • 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Previous experience in banking and management required
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, and influence others
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills


  • Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
