What do we do?

The US Consumer Analytics division drives data science and modeling work for Citi US Consumer bank division. On a daily basis, analysts on the team review millions of prospects and billions of customer level transactions using big data tools and machine learning, AI techniques to unlock opportunities for our clients in meeting their financial needs and create economic value for the bank.

The Analytics Technology and Innovation team drives development of latest technology capability and drives work effort across analytics, reporting and technology in support of all our partners. The team extracts relevant insights, identifies business opportunities, converts business problems into data requirement and service, uses big data tools to acquire deeper insight of business problem, and designs go-to-market strategies for a huge variety of business problems.

Responsibilities

As Omni-Channel Decision Engine (ODE) product owner, you will be responsible for leading and communicating the long-term strategic vision, roadmap, and evolution of ODE platform. We are seeking an experienced candidate who should be able to perform below behaviors in their day to day role:

  • Drive omni-channel data insights, conducting deep dives to understand the factors impacting performance, and identifying opportunities for enhancing revenue generation and improving customer experience using Pega CDH and Adobe Analytics EAP data. This role involves leveraging advanced analytics and statistical techniques to uncover insights, forecast trends, and drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. Moreover, the role will evolve to include the goal of fully automating data insights, utilizing advanced analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to generate actionable recommendations, thereby allowing our organization to make faster, more informed decisions and unlock untapped potential in our data.
  • Client Obsession – Identify the right stakeholders to involve in decision making and get buy in from them to delivery solution and manage dependencies related to enabling Pega Customer Decision Hub (CDH) usage for ODE and Next Best Action. Own deliverables as delegated by the Marketing Program Manager and investigate solutions for gaps as needed.
  • Data expertise – Experienced working with complex data sets to uncover insights or issues that will contribute to the product backlog. Ability to work in big data environments with knowledge of Hive, Python, and other big data tool sets
  • Project Execution – Own and deliver multiple and complex ODE Capability and Analytics projects to drive customer engagement and retention workstreams facing off against various stakeholder groups. This would require an understanding of business context, conversion of business problems into best-in-class technical solutions and implementing such solutions to create economic value.
  • Tech Savvy – Always up to date with the latest use cases of ODE and Pega CDH (Customer Decision Hub) as well as share knowledge within the team.
  • Strategic acumen – Should possess ability to see the big picture of business, ODE, CDH and understand emerging trends, challenge status quo, and set achievable goals
  • Communication skills – Ability to translate and articulate omni channel decision engine vision and detail execution plans to a larger audience including influencing skills with peers and senior management.

Above all, appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Skillset you should possess

The most important skill that our Product Owners should possess is their love for data, technology and their eagerness for new challenges & solving new problems. Apart from these, they should also have the following skillset

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Engineering Degree with 7+ years of experience in Marketing, Analytics, and Data Management.
  • Led or participated in large scale data and business transformation projects
  • Work around conflicting stakeholder priorities
  • Experience in Big Data Toolsets such as Python, Hive, Arcadia, etc.
  • Ability to collect specific customer and stakeholder needs and translate those to capabilities and features for the engineering team to deliver. Clearly articulate value of each use case for prioritization and present them to the management in a structured and simpler form
  • Should have excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Strong process/project management skills
  • Multiple stake holder management
  • Control orientated and Risk awareness
  • Ability to engage and deliver on business objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables seamlessly
  • Understanding of machine learning principles and its application in ODE

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Credit Cards and Retail Banking
  • Ability to guide and mentor team members
  • Experience working in onsite/offsite delivery model
  • Fast Learner with a desire to excel and attitude to partner and solve problems in complex environments placing business objectives at center of all activities.
  • Innovative, quick to adapt and eager to keep pace with the emerging technologies.
  • Ability to easily digest and interpret business priorities and objectives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project planning and management experience; highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Experience in working with external vendors to achieve business results
  • Solid understanding of the consumer lending market, customer life cycle, and P&L
  • Experience in segmentation, modeling, and optimization
  • Experience in collaboration with business stakeholders to balance business & technical objectives and technology stakeholders to deliver the solution which meets quality, reliability, scalability, and performance metrics
