The Payroll Analyst 2 is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information. Identifies inconsistencies in data or results, defines business issues and formulates recommendations on policies, procedures or practices. Integrates established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area with basic understanding of related industry practices. Good understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area. Develops working knowledge of industry practices and standards. Limited but direct impact on the business through the quality of the tasks/services provided. Impact of the job holder is restricted to own team.

Responsibilities:

  • The Payroll Analyst 2 performs business analysis for HR and Payroll operations organization.
  • Creates and implements internal procedures and business requirements.
  • Creates and manages the business analysis and documentation of system change specifications.
  • Develops and implements user application test plans; Executes test plans and identifies discrepancies.
  • Resolves discrepancies with technical and/or business personnel, implements corrective measures, and retests as needed.
  • Interprets data and makes recommendations.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
  • Candidates must be highly analytical with demonstrated experience in critical thinking, problem solving and evaluating business processes and data. This position requires a strong understanding of NAM payroll processing including federal and state regulations.

  • Interpret, analyze and apply statutory rules, compliance regulations, and corporate policy to ensure pay is accurate.
  • Develop controls and procedures to ensure compliance with policy.
  • Understand and Analyze complex payroll calculations and execute solutions that meet statutory regulations.
  • Assist and guide staff with escalations and complex pay issues.
  • Perform cyclic, monthly and quarterly audit review to ensure compliance requirements are fulfilled.
  • Participate as payroll SME for critical annual events, re-engineering efforts and other payroll related projects.
  • Participate in the change control process - create and execute user acceptance test plans and identify and document discrepancies found through the ability to accurately assess output against expected results.
  • Develop documentation to support system changes and prepare presentation to staff and update procedures accordingly.
  • Support team manager as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 0-2 years relevant experience
  • Demonstrated understanding of how the team interacts with others in accomplishing the objectives of the area.
  • Specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$48,180.00 - $63,140.00
